BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. - Profile Products LLC, a soil solutions company based in Buffalo Grove, Ill., recently announced the purchase of the hydraulic mulch business of Wood Recycling Inc., manufacturer of Re-Fiber™ and Hydroblanket® brand products.
According to Profile Products President Mark Lewry, “Profile has distributed Re-Fiber products for several years, so this is a natural fit for us. We are anxious to instill Profile's commitment to quality products and to extend our customer service to existing Wood Recycling customers."
The purchase was also designed to further expand Profile Products’ line of mulch products and related accessories. That product line was initially created when Profile acquired Terra-Mulch® and Conwed Fibers® brand products. The newly acquired Re-Fiber products include Hydroblanket®, a mechanically bonded fiber matrix.
Wood Recycling began manufacturing wood-based hydro mulch fiber products in 1990. Designed to complement the hydraulic application of seed, its Re-Fiber brand of wood-based mulching products rapidly absorbs moisture to create a homogeneous slurry in hydraulic mulching equipment. In 1996 it introduced Hydroblanket.
Profile Products manufactures a wide range of soil modification products and mulches for use by professional landscapers, groundskeepers, sports field managers, golf course superintendents and homeowners. TURFACE®, PROFILE™, Seed Aide®, Conwed Fibers® and Terra-Mulch products are sold in North America through a network of distributors and retail outlets. PROFILE soil conditioners are also distributed to homeowners exclusively through Schultz®, a nationwide provider of plant food and potting soils.
