Profile Products, manufacturer of a wide range of erosion control and hydraulic mulch products has partnered with Stormwater Workshops®, founded by John Hall of Hall Solutions Group, for the inaugural National Stormwater Summit Tour.
Stormwater Workshops is comprised of leading industry experts who have combined their experience to product the National Stormwater Summit. The 24-city tour will incorporate the latest innovations in best management practices (BMP) and best available technologies for quality stormwater compliance.
Profile Products Vice President of Marketing and Business Development says the company is excited to be a partner with the workshops. In speaking with Lawn & Landscape, Tanner says education on effective erosion control is essential to help landscape contractors, municipalities, homebuilders and other organizations to comply with Phase II standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

“There have been some very large fines levied upon homebuilders and others for violating erosion control laws,” Tanner says. “As a result, they’re trying to learn everything they can and are working to find the best products to prevent future violations and stay within compliance. Even landscape contractors that subcontract with municipalities, homebuilders and other organizations need to be educated on these practices because no one is immune from the law.”
Tanner explains that, in part, Phase II laws say that if new construction or renovations disturb land at an area of 1 acre or more, the completed project cannot produce any more sediment or run-off than existed before the construction began. “The laws were put in place by the EPA a few years ago and it’s being enforced at the state level,” Tanner says. “It’s really something that came form the West and is spreading east, so states like Georgia, the Carolinas, Virginia and others are getting very active in enforcement.”

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. – Profile Products announced recently that Canadian Forest Products (CANFOR) has withdrawn its EcoFlex product from the United States. CANFOR's action is a direct response to Profile's challenge that EcoFlex violates Profile's intellectual property rights for its product Flexterra Flexible Growth Medium. Currently, there are four separate patents protecting Flexterra's technology. As an erosion and sediment control product, Flexterra is applied hydraulically to form a blanket matrix. Flexterra is effective upon application and requries no cure time to develop intimate soil contact. As a result, it has been rated more than 99-percent effective for controlling erosion on steep slopes. For more information on Flexterra, visit www.profileproducts.com. |
Beginning later this month, the National Stormwater Summit Tour will combine an NPDES stormwater training program, an experts roundtable, a site tour and demonstrations that will showcase products manufactured by Profile Products. Also featured at the Summit will be an EPA perspective class and a session by award-winning motivational speaker Jeff Conley. Participants also will receive a comprehensive reference manual.
“We have created strategic alliances across the industry to create the most comprehensive training summit for builders, developers, engineers and government officials,” says John Hall, founder of the Stormwater Workshops. “Profile Products is a world-class company that enhances the value proposition for each of our summit attendees, offering the highest quality BMP products for the building industry.”
