Project EverGreen Elects New Leadership

Organization names new board members at annual meeting.

Project EverGreen held its board of directors meeting in Columbus, Ohio this week, during which the organization elected its leadership for 2006. Immediate Past President Paul McDonough of LESCO, passed the baton to incoming President Cindy Code, editorial director for the Lawn & Landscape Media Group. Also named to the board were:

“Project EverGreen is represented by a diverse and talented group,” Code tells Lawn & Landscape. “The dedication and passion for the green industry that each individual brings has helped to elevate the visibility and recognition of Project EverGreen in short time. I’m excited about the opportunities we have in 2006.”

Save for Norman Goldenberg taking on a new title, Project EverGreen’s Executive Committee remains mostly unchanged for the New Year. Neil Cleveland, representing Bayer Environmental Science, replaces Dan Carrothers who announced he will be leaving Bayer to pursue new opportunities at the end of the month; Carrothers, soon to be working with Datacore Inc., will remain connected with Project EverGreen as a board member.

Project EverGreen’s mission is to raise the environmental, economic and lifestyle benefits of green spaces. End-users, suppliers, associations and related groups and individuals have played a significant role in the growth of Project EverGreen. Through a diverse representation from all facets of the green industry including lawn care, landscape, sports turf, golf course superintendents, arborists, irrigation contractors and turfgrass producers the group truly can promote a unified message: Because Green Matters.

In 2006, Project EverGreen will expand its public relations campaign and community outreach programs to more locales including enhanced partnerships with Habitat for Humanity, America In Bloom and sports turf organizations.
