MEMPHIS, Tenn. – In the interest of pursuing new growth prospects within the green industry, ProSource One announced earlier this month the addition of eight sales representatives to its team.
ProSource, a Memphis, Tenn.-based division of the Minn.-based agronomy joint venture Agriliance, hired Mike Bailey, Virgil Beaven, Geer DuBose, Bill Gauwitz, Dan Jones, Theresa Luke, Brian McGuffin and Bill Plante as sales representatives for the turf, lawn care, forestry, vegetation management, aquatics, golf and ornamentals markets across the United States.
The company expansion results from plans to grow the company, even though particular areas have not yet been identified, said Keith Woodruff, national account manager, ProSource One, Memphis, Tenn. “We are currently evaluating many areas of the country for growth,” he said. “Goals will be set as we identify the specific targets.”
Parent company Agriliance views the sales department additions as an opportunity to pursue growth in non-agricultural markets, Woodruff continued. “Internally, we welcome the challenge,” he said.
Despite the new faces at ProSource One, marketing techniques will generally stay the same, allowing the company to continue concentrating on quality service. “The model has not changed significantly,” Woodruff noted. “Customers require quality products and service to be successful. We want to be part of their success.” Hiring quality people is the first step to that success, he added.
ProSource One, a distribution company supplying fertilizers, chemicals, seed and services to industry professionals in the U.S., currently has 23 facilities, mostly in the eastern half of the country. In addition, the company has a few locations in Dallas, Phoenix and St. Joseph, Mo.
Agrilance, an agronomy marketing joint venture and partnership of producer-owners, local cooperatives and regional cooperatives, was formed in February 2000 among Land O’ Lakes, St. Paul, Minn., CHS Cooperatives, St. Paul, Minn., and Farmland Industries, Kansas City, Mo.
