Quali-Pro's new initiative takes the company beyond today.
“By looking ten years into the future, our Innovate Team is at the leading edge of research and development,” says Russ Mitchell, Quali-Pro director of marketing and products. “We are tracking trends and working with professionals in the green industry to anticipate coming needs and develop solutions to problems facing us today and well into the future.”
The Innovate group is a pro-active endeavor initiated by the parent company of Quali-Pro, Makhteshim-Agan Industries. International in scope, Innovate works as a conduit working to keep a constant flow of new product chemistry in three phases: discovery, development and commercial introduction.
“I’d say it takes thousands of trials to identify a viable compound as worthy of further developmental work," says Jerry Corbett, technical services manager at Quali-Pro. "MAI is constantly looking for new compounds that are available around the world and when a highly promising compound is identified, it is added to the Innovate pipeline. This is where our new, patented chemistries will come from. We’re also as interested in re-vitalizing some traditional chemistries as well as discovering new compounds.”
Mitchell concludes, “Not only are we creating a new model of service and support in off-patent chemicals, Quali-Pro is looking to the future to develop one of the most comprehensive product portfolios in the industry today. The way we see it, the best way to think about the future is to invent it.”
