SANIBEL ISLAND, Fla. — R. S. Walsh Landscaping, a full-service landscape design-build company, recently added Katia Olmstead as a landscape designer.
“We are excited to add Katia to our team,” said Robert Walsh, owner of R.S. Walsh Landscaping. “She has a passion for landscape design, particularly in our tropical environment and has strong roots in Southwest Florida.”
“I’m inspired by my Puerto Rican heritage and love of traveling to create well-designed projects with a variety of color, texture, and foliage,” Olmstead said. "Just as interior spaces serve as sanctuaries for reflection and nourishment, so too should our natural environment, particularly in Southwest Florida, where the weather affords us the opportunity for comfortable outdoor living year-round.”
Olmstead, a Fort Myers native, graduated from Clemson University in 2020 with a bachelor of landscape architecture. She is working toward licensure as a Florida registered landscape architect. During college, Olmstead spent a semester studying in Genova, Italy where she gained a greater understanding of architecture and urban cultures. She is an active member of Florida Association of Landscape Architecture.
