Eight-year-old Adam Lugo of Claremont, Calif., watches as a mechanical ocelot cub passes during an early morning street test run of Rain Bird's 2004 float entry for the 115th Tournament of Roses Rose Parade.

Rain Bird is testing its float entry for the 115th Tournament of Roses Rose Parade. This year's parade will feature the industry manufacturer's eighth consecutive year of participation in the annual New Year's event.

Rain Bird's entry is titled “Springtime Symphony.” The symbolic title, reflecting the arrival of spring, will depict new life rising above the winter snow to expose the brilliant colors and textures of the Southwestern landscape.

And true to the Rain Bird vision for “The Intelligent Use of Water,” the float will include more than 1,500 gallons of cascading water.
