GLENDORA, Calif. – Rain Bird Corp. has been selected by the Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts (PSHA) as the exclusive supplier of irrigation equipment for the lawns and gardens surrounding the 41st annual Pasadena Showcase House of Design, a stunning two-acre estate in San Marino, Calif. As the exclusive supplier of irrigation products for the Showcase House of Design, a Wallace Neff Italian villa, Rain Bird's drip and turf irrigation products are featured in each of the 12 landscape vignettes surrounding the 10,000 square-foot Showcase House.

"The Showcase House presents interesting scenarios for the landscape professionals working on the project because there are a number of different types of shade trees that create a variety of micro-climates and a vast array of watering requirements," said Bob Silva, Rain Bird Corp.’s regional sales manager. "Each of the Showcase House's gardens demonstrates that a beautiful landscape and water conservation can co-exist by combining climate-specific plants with low-maintenance, water-saving irrigation and effective design."

The home selected as this year's Pasadena Showcase House of Design was originally built in 1929 at a cost of $83,000. Today, the home is eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places and California Register of Historical Resources. As has been the case with all of the Pasadena Showcase Design Homes, this year's estate home has been transformed by more than 30 interior and exterior design teams, each donating their time and efforts to transform the Showcase House using the latest in interior and landscape design concepts.

"The environmentally conscious design displayed in each of the estate's gardens of this year's Showcase House is a perfect complement to Rain Bird's commitment to The Intelligent use of Water™ and serves as an example of how beautiful, lush gardens can be achieved and maintained using minimal amounts of water," said Jennifer Riley-Chetwynd, Rain Bird's corporate marketing brand manager.

An annual philanthropic event to benefit the arts, the Pasadena Showcase House of Design has raised more than $13 million over the past 40 years for music education programs and for such organizations as the Walt Disney Hall, Hollywood Bowl and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The 2005 Pasadena Showcase House of Design is through May 15th. For additional information, please visit www.pasadenashowcase.org.
