In a year when business concerns like H-2B and rising insurance costs are set against a backdrop of war in the Middle East, this year’s Legislative Day on the Hill and Renewal & Remembrance Project couldn’t fall at a more appropriate time. Organized by the Professional Lawn Care Association of America (PLCAA) and sponsored by the American Landscape Contractors’ Association (ALCA), contractors still have time to turn in their forms for free registration for the event, to be held July 19 to 20 in Washington, D.C.

H-2B: Association Health Care Programs: |
The Legislative Day and Cemetery Project is a memorable patriotic experience. In addition to taking important business and industry issues to Capitol Hill, lawn and landscape companies and industry suppliers dedicate their time, expertise and equipment to beautify Arlington National Cemetery and Old Congressional Cemetery in the nation’s capital. This national community service project provides with participants a chance to honor America’s veterans and leaders, as well as provide positive public relations for the green industry.
Last year, nearly 200 lawn care operators from 30 states volunteered their services for this Renewal & Remembrance Project and made their voices heard on Capitol Hill. This year, the visit to Washington will also include discussions of issues ranging from turfgrass research and H-2B to association health care programs and the 21st Century Water Commission.
The registration deadline for the 2004 Legislative Day on the Hill is June 30. Interested attendees may click here to view and print the registration form in PDF format, or may contact PLCAA’s Betsy Demoret for more information or to sign up. Betsy can be reached at bdemoret@plcaa.org or by phone at 800/458-3466.
