In spring 2007, APHIS intends to test trunk injection delivery systems that can introduce approved imidacloprid formulations into trees for potential use in the Asian longhorn beetle chemical treatment program. APHIS also intends to evaluate formulations of imidacloprid that currently have U.S. label registration as well as those that are under development.
Candidate formulations, systems and methodologies will be reviewed and approved for field tests by the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), USDA APHIS Pest Survey, Detection and Exclusion Laboratory. The Performance Work Statement (PWS) to conduct evaluations of formulations and injection devices and other methodologies to program trees for the ALB Program will be posted to this special notice.
APHIS intends to approve pressurized delivery systems and formulations that offer the best value to the ALB Program. The approved system or formulation under this trial agreement does not obligate the Government to procure or be construed as a mandatory source.
APHIS will list Level I, II, and formulation companies that have been approved for use in the USDA, APHIS Asian Longhorned Beetle (ALB) Program in the government?s point of entry (GPE): www.fedbizopps.gov.
PROSPECTIVE VENDORS MUST HAVE AN EXECUTED TRIAL AGREEMENT SIGNED BY THE CONTRACTING OFFICER BEFORE REVIEW AND EVALUATION OF THEIR INJECTION SYSTEM/FORMULATION.
Upon receipt of a signed trial agreement, candidate formulations, systems and methodologies must be submitted no later than COB 4 p.m. EST, March 30, 2007.
