Scope of Work

The Veterans Administration Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) is soliciting bids for the procurement of Exterior Lawn Maintenance Service at 420 N. James Road, Whitehall, Ohio. The landscape contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, qualified supervision, incidental costs, including transportation and lodging and other items and services required to complete all landscape maintenance work to include general lawn care maintenance; turf maintenance to include general cleanup and waste removal, mowing, edging, fertilizing, lawn weed control and insect and disease control monitoring; care of trees, shrubs and ground cover to include pruning and restraining or restricting the growth of vines, and snow plowing and removal. Spring cleanup to include trash removal and cleanup, fertilizing and mulching of plant beds; Fall clean up to include leaf removal. All chemical applications shall be performed in accordance with current county, state, and federal laws, utilizing EPA registered materials and methods of application. These applications shall be performed under the supervision of a Licensed Certified applicator. All services to be performed by fully licensed and accredited personnel. The businesses must, be an established, financially responsible, and have the necessary equipment and personnel to furnish lawn maintenance service as described in the solicitation.

Ground Maintenance

Scope of Work:

The Coast Guard requests a comprehensive quote for grounds maintenance for the following the above address in the following areas;

Administration Building: 1) Fine cut all grass around the Administration and safety buildings. Edge all walkways surrounding the Administration and Safety buildings without the use of chemicals. 2) Trim/maintain all ditches surrounding the Administration building (East side and North side). The use of environmentally friendly chemicals is optional on the ditches but must present a trimmed, professional looking appearance. 3) Trim grass all trees surrounding the Administration and Safety buildings. The use of environmentally friendly chemicals is optional on the base of the tree only. If chemicals are used, chemicals may not affect the surrounding grass more that 36 inches in radius to the base of the tree. 4) Trim/shape all shrubs, weed shrub beds and keep trees within shrub beds surrounding Administration and Safety buildings. 5) Weed all areas where grass meets asphalt and weed around all obstacles that meet grass surrounding the parking area. 6) Remove all grass, shrub, limb clippings from all walkways and areas in items one through five above. 7) Aesthetic appearance, changes in shrub trimming and pruning height of trees will be at the discretion of the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans Public Works Department Head or their designated representative.

Large areas and other areas: Four main grass areas which will be referred to as field one, field two, field three and field four. Grass will be mowed and properly maintained for all four fields as well as the other small areas outlined in this scope of work which is within Coast Guard property boundaries. 1) Field one is described as the area of grass that borders both sides of the roadway entrance to the coast Guard facility itself (from front gate to the administration building/North West to South East). The grass of both sides of the roadway should be cut using a ZTR or small type lawn mower (not a large tractor type). The sides of field one will be defined as extending twenty feet beyond the roads bordering trees (North East to South West).

Contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, specialized equipment, fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, fertilizer, and other necessary materials, supervision and transportation to perform landscape maintenance services for the JACC property.
