What you spend depends on what you make. In our 2014 State of the Industry Report, we asked companies what they were shelling out annually on products and services, and broke it up into companies that gross less than $200,000 (which is 45 percent of our respondents) and gross more than $200,000. Obviously the higher revenue companies will spend more, but in some cases it was a very large amount (fertilizers). Yet, the smaller companies did outspend in a couple categories (consultants – they are working to get above that $200,000 line).
