What once was known as Riverdale Chemical Company has officially changed its name to Nufarm Turf & Specialty, a division of Nufarm Americas Inc. The name change was first introduced at the 2004 GCSAA Trade Show in San Diego, Calif.
Although new for the company formerly known as Riverdale, the Nufarm name is not entirely unfamiliar to the U.S. market. Riverdale was purchased by Australian–based Nufarm Limited in 1999, and coupled with the creation of a highly successful agriculture division, Nufarm Americas was born.
The recent evolution from Riverdale into Nufarm Turf & Specialty represents one of many steps toward the streamlining of Nufarm’s North American business. The aim of this transition is to unify the company and increase efficiency while providing its customers with the personalized service they have come to expect from the Riverdale business. The Riverdale name will continue to serve as a brand strategy on the existing product lines.
Nufarm Americas has secured a strong and growing presence in the U.S. market and –with a number of product launches expected in coming months – Nufarm Turf & Specialty is poised to be an industry leader. The company will continue to serve the golf course, lawn and landscape and various industrial vegetation management segments with an array of premium post and pre-emergent herbicides, fungicides and specialty chemicals.
