Ruppert Award Recipients Honored

Eleven Ruppert Nurseries employees were honored when the company presented its annual awards at a recent corporate function. 

“Presenting these awards gives us the opportunity to thank all of our employees for the contributions they make to our company on a daily basis,” said President Chris Davitt. “These eleven individuals have worked extremely hard and have excelled in their respective positions, overcoming challenges with positive outcomes.” 

Below are the descriptions and recipients of each award:

Achievement Award
This award, one of the company’s two top honors, recognizes the employee who has made a significant contribution in 2006 through outstanding job execution and high-quality results. Patrick Luzier (branch manager, Georgia Landscape Installation) has been with Ruppert for seven years and was recognized for successfully completing the company’s largest job to date, which is the first phase of the Le Jardin project. The combination of that job and others has allowed his branch to grow over 300 percent in 2006. Luzier resides in Suwanee, Ga.

Clyde Vadner Merit Award
This award is the company’s top honor and recognizes the individual who has contributed continuous, consistent, long-term hard work, dedication and job skill that has helped to shape the company. John Kimball (field manager), from Bristow, VA, was recognized for nine and a half years of excelling at his field and project management positions. He has successfully completed some of the company’s most high-quality and complex jobs and has continuously exceeded customers’ expectations. 

Impact Award
This award goes to the employee whose outstanding dedication and contributions have made a positive impact on their individual branch.  There were seven recipients of this award:

• Patrick Hill (IT manager), an eleven-month Ruppert employee from Frederick, Md., received the honor for Corporate
• Dave Batey (business development manager), a one-year Ruppert employee from Alpharetta, Ga., received the honor for the Georgia Landscape Installation branch
• Michael Vispi (area manager), a one-year Ruppert employee from Buford, Ga., received the honor for the Georgia Landscape Management branch
• Shane Carmadella (business development manager), a five-year Ruppert employee from Ellicott City, Md., received the honor for the Maryland Landscape Installation branch
• Michelle Ridings (administrative assistant), a three-year Ruppert employee from New Market, Md., received the honor for the Maryland Landscape Management branch
• Dave Wakeling (area manager), a five-year Ruppert employee from Dover, Del., received the honor for the Pennsylvania Landscape Management branch
• Adam Tankersley (manager, sales & inventory), a seven-year Ruppert employee from Monrovia, Md., received the honor for the Tree-Growing Division
• Candido Murcia (field manager), a two-year Ruppert employee from Manassas, Va.,  received the honor for the Virginia Landscape Installation branch
• Craig Jones (area manager), a seven-year Ruppert employee from Haymarket, Va., received the honor for the Virginia Landscape Management branch

Ruppert Nurseries provides commercial landscape installation and landscape management services in the mid-Atlantic and Atlanta regions and is also a 475-acre wholesale tree nursery in Montgomery County, Md.
