Ruppert Recognizes Employee Contributions

Awards were presented at a recent banquet.

Eleven Ruppert Nurseries employees were recently honored as the company presented its annual awards at their recent banquet.  

“Presenting these awards gives us the opportunity to thank all of our employees for the contributions they make to our company on a daily basis,” said President Chris Davitt. “These twelve individuals have worked extremely hard and have excelled in their respective positions, overcoming challenges with positive outcomes.” 

Below are the descriptions and recipients of each award:

Achievement Award
This award, one of the company’s two top honors, recognizes the employee who has made a significant contribution in 2007 through outstanding job execution and high-quality results. Mike Ward (Senior Estimator, Georgia Landscape Installation branch) has been with Ruppert for 12 years and was recognized for his contributions to the branch as a senior estimator and for his efforts in researching, selecting, transitioning and implementing new bid software. Ward resides in Gainesville, GA.

Clyde Vadner Merit Award
This award is the company’s top honor and recognizes the individual who has contributed continuous, consistent, long-term hard work, dedication and job skill that has helped to shape the company. Richard Schubach (Branch Manager, Maryland Landscape Installation branch), from Burtonsville, MD, was recognized for leading his branch to their finest year since 1998. A 20-year employee, Rich has worked his way from crewman to manager and firm partner, excelling in all positions along the way. He has successfully managed some of the company’s most high-quality and complex jobs and has continuously exceeded customers’ expectations. 

Impact Award
These awards are given to the employee whose outstanding dedication and contributions have made a positive impact on their individual branch.  This year, ther e was ten recipients:

  • Lee Clarke (Landscape Division Administrator), a 20-year Ruppert employee from Arlington, Va., received the honor for Corporate
  • Ken Ward (Enhancement Manager), a five-year Ruppert employee from Washington Grove, Md., received the honor for the Prince George’s landscape management branch
  • H Savage (Senior Field Manager), a 13-year Ruppert employee from Norcross, Ga., received the honor for the Georgia Landscape Installation branch
  • Thor Grenier (Area Manager), a six-year Ruppert employee from Grayson, Ga., received the honor for the Georgia Landscape Management branch
  • Drew Dumman (Project Manager), a one-year Ruppert employee from Frederick, Md.,  received the honor for the Maryland Landscape Installation branch
  • Jason Kilmore (Area Manager), a three-year Ruppert employee from  Mt. Airy, Md.,  received the honor for the Maryland Landscape Management branch
  • Tim Basista (Field Manager), a two-year Ruppert employee from Lancaster, Pa., received the honor for the Pennsylvania Landscape Management branch
  • Oscar Morales (Tree Spade Operator), a 13-year Ruppert employee from Gaithersburg, Md.,  received the honor for the Tree-Growing Division
  • John Kimball (Senior Field Manager), a ten-year Ruppert employee from Bristow, Va., received the honor for the Virginia Landscape Installation branch
  • Justin Gibson (Area Manager), a three-year Ruppert employee from Manassas, Va., received the honor for the Virginia Landscape Management branch
