Savio Engineering moved its base of operations to a new, larger, building in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The new facility at 44,000 square feet is more than double the size of Savio’s previous facility - solving a severe space crunch. The move allows Savio to consolidate its corporate offices, currently housed in a 19 story bank building in the downtown area with its warehouse and assembly operations.
Almost as soon as the ink dried on the lease agreement, the company began hiring new staff. As a result, Savio has brought on nearly a dozen new employees in the last two months to fill new support positions.
“I wish this new space were 88,000 sq feet.” says Chic Kelty, Savio CEO, commenting on how quickly the new building is filling up. “ But I expect this building will hold us for another year”.
The property, located on 6.5 acres of land, leaves plenty of room for expansion. Kelty has plans to begin phase II of construction in 2008.
