Scotts Co. outlined an environmental strategy to reduce consumer overuse of its products at the Lawns and the Environment Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
The Marysville, Ohio-based lawn and garden supplier, said it is working to improve its product directions and dispensing for that purpose.
For example, Scotts has developed a foam-trigger sprayer for its Roundup FastAct weed killer, which spreads in a foam so consumers can see where they’ve already sprayed. The company won a 2004 Environmental Technologies Award for that design.
The summit was organized by the Center for Resource Management, an environmental group based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Attendees included government representatives, environmental groups and the lawn-care industry.
