The Scotts Company, a global leader in the consumer lawn and garden industry, has named Robert Bernstock executive vice president and president of the company's North American Consumer Business. He joins Scotts on June 2.
Bernstock, 52, brings a strong background with other branded consumer products companies and joins Scotts from The Dial Company, where he served as senior vice president and general manager since last year. Previously, he was president and CEO of Vlasic Foods, which was a spin-off from the Campbell Soup Company, where he worked for 13 years.
He joined Campbell Soup in 1985 and worked his way up the organization before being named vice president of the soup division in 1990. Bernstock became senior vice president of Campbell Soup and president of its U.S. Grocery Division in 1996. He was later promoted to executive vice president of the company before being selected to run Vlasic.
Bernstock started his career as an assistant product manager with General Foods Corp. after completing his MBA from Harvard Business School.
