Clayton, N.C. – Twenty-two formulator representatives from throughout the country gathered recently for an information forum at the Bayer Environmental Science Research and Training Center in Clayton, N.C. The attendees toured the 281-acre facility and greenhouses, as well as participating in research and marketing presentations.

“We want to make sure our formulator customers have the most up-to-date information regarding Bayer product developments, turf industry changes and plans for the future,“ said John Turner, national formulator account manager for Bayer. “Formulators are an extremely important part of our business.“

The North Carolina summit followed a similar formulator meeting held two years ago in Chicago. Bayer plans to continue offering educational seminars at the research facility in an effort to provide valuable information to key customers and distributor representatives.

The course is only two holes, but provides plenty of area for researchers to track the efficacy of Bayer's turf products used on golf courses. The Clayton research facility is the only research farm specifically dedicated to the turf industry. It includes a two-hole golf course, 10 interconnected greenhouses, and an on-site conference center.

Formulators sell blended fertilizers and fertilizer/pesticide products to turf professionals for use in turf and landscape maintenance. Many Bayer products, such as Ronstar®, Merit®, Bayleton®, and Sevin®, are blended with fertilizers for greater application efficiency.
