SEE Water Wise Landscape Tours California Venues

The 20-by-20-foot mobile landscape has been touring the LA and Orange County areas to promote the reduction of water use.

Sustainable Environmental Education (SEE) is a non-profit organization dedicated to water use education. Supporting the efforts of California Governor Schwarzenegger to reduce water consumption in California by 20 percent and tapping into Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’ “Drought Buster” rules and regulations, SEE developed a 20-by-20-foot mobile landscape that has been touring southern California’s most popular venues in the LA and Orange County areas which continues to draw attention from attendees.

“We originally began with a 10-by-20-foot display, but, after the first show it quickly grew into a sprawling 20-by-20-foot feature” says SEE’s account executive, Esther Shubin. “The success of this project has been overwhelming.  We are getting record hits on our Web site and what we thought was only going to be a 4 show tour is now being booked for 2009.”

The mobile landscape features a ‘typical’ southern California home with a fully landscaped front and backyard. Syndicated radio garden expert Nick Federoff volunteered to ‘get the word out.’

"It is not necessary to eliminate turf and pull out all plants to have a water thrifty yard," he says. "We demonstrate the elements needed for strategic water placement and how to plan for the future.”

Current display highlights include what to do outdoors; first, with the use of the deep rooting Marathon Sod, MP Rotators to water turf, Kellogg compost, Ecologel’s Hydretain root zone moisture manager, Agromin bark, Mister Landscaper micro irrigation to Irrometer soil sensors.  Water conservation indoors takes a look at the only tankless water heater manufactured in the U.S.(by Omega 2000 Group) and Security Titan Water Leak Detection that calls you by telephone when a leak in your house or apartment occurs.

SEE has secured real estate at venues at home shows, fairs and trade shows at the LA Conventional Center, the Orange County Fair & Event Center, the Pasadena Convention Center and the Fairplex in Pomona.

Sustainable Environmental Education is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and is looking for donations to help defray the costs of the moveable landscape.  For your donation Water Wise Landscape can display your product and highlight your business on the mobile unit at each venue.
