DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. – The ServiceMaster Co. recently announced the promotion of Rick Ascolese to the position of President of TruGreen LandCare. Prior to his promotion, Ascolese served as Chief Operating Officer of the business.

"We continue to strengthen our management team by moving our experienced leaders into positions where they have the best opportunity to accelerate our growth and to solidify partnerships with our customers," said Jonathan Ward, chairman and chief executive officer of ServiceMaster. "The TruGreen team already has an excellent working relationship with Rick and responds well to his leadership. I know they will continue to benefit from his skills and operating experience as the business achieves new growth and accomplishment."

Robert Fates, former President of the unit, will be working with the company on the development of new business plans to further enhance the company's cross-business commercial sales efforts.

"Bob Fates took over TruGreen LandCare at a critical time for the business and did exactly what we asked him to do," continued Ward. "In a short time he and his team were able to make significant progress in both stabilizing and improving the business, putting it on a path to be a significant contributor to our company."

Previously, Ascolese spent 18 years with American Home Shield, another ServiceMaster business unit. Throughout his career at American Home Shield he held several leadership positions, including his last position of Executive Vice President, where he oversaw operations and consumer sales. Prior to joining ServiceMaster, Ascolese spent five years at General Electric in operational and sales roles within a decentralized branch model.
