The ServiceMaster Company has announced that its Trees Inc. unit, a subsidiary of TruGreen LandCare, has agreed to sell substantially all of the assets and related operational obligations of its utility line-clearing business to an independent subsidiary of Asplundh Subsidiary Holdings, Inc., for $20.5 million.
TruGreen LandCare will continue to provide other arbor services throughout the United States. ServiceMaster does not expect a material impact on earnings per share from this transaction.
ServiceMaster currently provides outsourcing services for more than 10.5 million residential and commercial customers. These services are provided through a network of over 5,400 company-owned and franchised service centers and business units operating under leading brands, which include TruGreen ChemLawn and TruGreen LandCare.
