Three former Skinner sites in Manor (Austin), Lewisville and Houston were recently purchased by Shemin, The Landscape Supply Company, based in Danbury, Conn. This is Shemin’s first foray into the Texas market.
“We are excited to bring Shemin’s complete line of high-quality professional landscape products to these three Texas markets,” said Steffan Burns, CEO of Shemin.
The company plans to eventually expand the product line at these locations to include hardlines, turf, and irrigation and lighting products.
Representatives from Skinner Nurseries, headquartered in Jacksonville, Fla., could not be reached for comment. The Jacksonville Business Journal reported that most of Skinner’s remaining distribution centers will close.
