Recently a group of Shindaiwa distributor territory sales managers enjoyed a long weekend in Indianapolis for the Allstate Brickyard 400 NASCAR race. The promotion centered on the new Shindaiwa 242-series and unit sales from Oct. 1, 2006 through May 31, 2007. The top TMs from each region have the largest quantity of 242-series unit sales from the East, West, South and Canada regions qualified for the trip.

They event began with a dinner hosted by John White, Shindaiwa eastern regional sales manager, at his Indianapolis home. The winning TMs were presented with a special award plaque and a limited edition 242 NASCAR polo shirt. Sunday was race day where the TM’s and Shindaiwa management personnel joined the approximately 350,000 other race fans at the world famous “brickyard” race track.
The top three salesmen for this promotion are Dick Kinser from RCH located in Memphis, Tenn. Second is PACE’s Rich Corney of Plymouth, Mich., and Anthony Wood from Wise Mid-State of Dunn, N.C., finished third. Six other TMs made the trip, including Rob Coulter from Tidewater Power Equipment, Danny Rachow, Jerry Freeman, and Derek Barton from Smith’s South-Central Sales, Jeff Pitts from AES LawnParts, and Jason Suzuki from South Shore Equipment. Other distributor TMs including Bob Burns from Pitt Power Products, Bob Brown from Tidewater Power Equipment, Stan Abramowitz and Ken Sauer from KPM, and Steve Hoctor from Scotsco could not attend due to prior family commitments.
This was the second year that Shindaiwa has awarded a NASCAR TM incentive trip. Last year’s trip was to Las Vegas and involved selling the very popular Shindaiwa Speed-Feed trimmer heads. Stan Abramowitz, Danny Rachow and Dick Kinser all qualified for last years race and were the only three to qualify two years in a row.
It was great to see Shindaiwa people and the other TMs outside the structure of business meetings," says Rich Corney of PACE. “The Brickyard 400 was the first race that I had ever been to, but now surely won't be my last.”
