Shindaiwa recently hosted its North American Distributor Meeting in Portland, Ore. for 38 principals and sales managers from the U.S. and Canada. In an effort to generate record sales growth in 2006, the meeting focused on three distinct and crucial elements of sales: advertising, merchandising, and dealer identification. The height of the meeting was a ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening of a new and modern Shindaiwa building.

The grand opening of an ultra-modern assembly operation and warehouse located in Tualatin, Ore., was led by Y. Asamoto, president of Shin-Daiwa Kogyo of Hiroshima, Japan. Asamoto dedicated the building with a speech immediately followed by a special ribbon-cutting ceremony. “We now have more new products for North America in development than anytime since we began business here back in 1981,” he said. “This will translate in to new opportunities for all of us. We purchased this facility earlier this year and will transform it in to a highly productive facility.”
During its dealer meeting, Shindaiwa announced multimedia advertising agency Media Depot, which will help the company execute new regional and local media opportunities, including print, radio and cable television presence, for participating Shindaiwa dealers.
Shindaiwa also announced recently that it has entered into an agreement with the Symbiot Business Group, Draper, Utah, to supply Symbiot’s member companies with Shindaiwa hand-held power equipment. “Shindaiwa is pleased to confirm its preferred-supplier status for hand-held power equipment by Symbiot,” said Mike Nichols, vice president, marketing and business development for Shindaiwa, at a recent gathering of Symbiot landscape professionals.

“Symbiot is looking for ways to reduce expenses for their member companies while increasing productivity,” Nichols explains. “We realize Symbiot has many choices in the marketplace and we are delighted they have selected us as preferred partner. A key reason they selected Shindaiwa is that we offer so many choices for the landscaper (and) we produce the most durable, high-performance equipment possible, while also paying attention to the details of being a responsible world citizen and eco-friendly company. The benefit for the environment is obvious; clean air and beautiful landscapes.”
The Symbiot Business Group is a national consortium of companies practicing various property management disciplines such as landscape maintenance, custodial, HVAC, snow management, parking lot sweeping and striping, irrigation and water management, electrical, and pest management services. Symbiot’s networks of member companies number in the hundreds.
