The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Jack Lift Tools and Kits due to a collapse hazard.
The lawn mower jacks, made by Shivvers Manufacturing Inc., of Corydon, Iowa, have failed repeatedly due to threads stripping or nuts breaking, the Commission said in a statement Friday.
About 450 of the jacks were sold at Country Clipper dealers nationwide between May 2007 and June 2008 for $150. The full jack kit sold for $225, the commission said.
The jacks are sold separately and with Charger, JAZee and Boss riding lawn mowers.
Consumers were advised to stop using the jacks and contact a local service dealer to have their lawn mowers repaired at no charge.
Consumers can call 800-344-8237 for information.
The Country Clipper Division of Shivvers Manufacturing, Inc., is a manufacturer of commercial and residential zero-turn mowers since 1986.
