Skilled Worker Agency Opens in South Florida

International firm recruits, processes, guarantees imported legal workers.

Redstone Florida Workforce hopes to ease the shortage of skilled laborers.

Redstone Florida Workforce is a new division of the Stone Group, a 10-year-old international company that has placed some 14,000 workers throughout Europe, North America, and the Middle East. Currently, more than 2,000 workers are placed in jobs.

With no risk or upfront costs to American companies, Redstone Florida Workforce handles the entire legal and recruiting process of skilled labor from Eastern Europe and the Far East. These highly skilled and hardworking individuals are seeking working positions in the United States, but all too often, the paperwork and risks associated with making these arrangements without professional assistance becomes insurmountable.

Redstone only gets paid after a worker is hired by the company, and the right match is confirmed on the job site. If the worker does not turn out to be the right fit for some reason, another worker will be provided no cost, the company says. These workers are experienced replacement workers who are used to working in other countries for limited periods of time, so their adjustment and professionalism is high.

"The response to our service clearly indicates the huge need and service that we are providing," says Gil Cohen, general manager of Redstone Florida Workforce, who identified the need in South Florida and teamed up with Israel-based Stone Group which has been in the labor-supply business for a decade. "This is no small feat," Cohen says. "Finding suitable skilled labor involves many things from recruiting, selection, transporting, overseeing, and we even guarantee the level of skill of the workers, or we replace them at our cost."

One recent success story out of South Florida is a tile company that needed dozens of workers to help with a big construction job. Working with Redstone, the company petitioned the Chinese government for workers and his needs were met. Redstone completed all the legal processing, as well as the transportation, transition, translation and continuing supervision of the workers supplied for the job.

To showcase how the system works, if a skilled worker is needed in the construction field, for example, a company would contact Redstone; Redstone would notify one of its international sister companies who would identify the appropriate and capable skilled labor; a law firm based in the U.S. would handle the four-month paperwork and approval process including filing with foreign and U.S. embassies; Redstone's overseas affiliates would help the person with arrangements to move to the United States; and if necessary, find suitable housing; if there was a language barrier, Redstone would provide an English-speaking coordinator who would stay on the job for as long as the worker was enlisted and would keep check with the employer to ensure full satisfaction. Redstone covers all expenses of this process.

The H-2B non-immigrant program permits U.S. employers to hire foreign workers to come to the U.S. and perform temporary nonagricultural work, and the work can be one-time, seasonal, long term or intermittent. The foreign workers are solely employed by the employer up to three years, at which time, they return to their home country.

Redstone Florida Workforce provides a turnkey solution to deliver ideal candidates to job sites. Heavy concentration in the construction industry, Redstone identifies engineers, foreman and workers. They guarantee all work whether turnkey or subcontracted, and they provide a constant flow of communication from worker selection through arrival at the job site. They continue to provide guidance throughout the employment process.

Redstone can arrange for either hourly pay for the workers, or compensation based on project completion. Many of the foreign workers provided through Redstone are trained to complete jobs to perfection regardless of the amount of time it takes, which is more efficient for the employer. It also encourages workers to complete the jobs faster, which can be more cost-effective especially in construction projects.

In addition to the construction field, Redstone provides workers in industries including agriculture, landscaping, industrial and hospitality. Redstone Florida Workforce LLC can be contacted at 800/980-3141 and www.stonegroup.biz.
