Skinner Nurseries, a supplier of green goods in the South, opened a branch in the west Charleston suburb of Summerville, S.C., located on Jedburg Road between US17 and Interstate 26. The new location brings Skinner Nurseries total branch count to three serving the South Carolina market, with branches also in Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head.
The seven-acre site carries a full line of B&B and container trees, shrubs, groundcovers, vines, annuals, perennials, and specialty plants.
“We’re very excited to bring our Plant Purchasing Simplified branch model to the Charleston metro area," says Chuck Easton, special asset manager for Skinner Nurseries. "We’ve been serving the market on a direct basis for the past eight years, but the amount of growth the area has experienced demands our further investment in personnel, facility and inventory. We will own the word ‘service’ in the Charleston area."
Rusty Reeder, who has been a branch manager with Skinner Nurseries since April 2007, will head the new location. He has been in the green goods industry his entire life, working for 17 years in his family’s tree nursery.
Skinner Nurseries now operates twenty-one strategically located distribution centers across the southern United States, and is one of the fastest growing suppliers of green goods in the Southeast.
