The Southern Nursery Association has announced that it is working on assessing the needs of companies in the southern portion of the U.S. devastated by Hurricane Katrina. In doing so, SNA is establishing the SNA Industry Disaster Support Program to respond to such needs.
According to an announcement on its Web site, SNA expects the majority of industry assistance to come in the form of loaned equipment such as generators, chain saws, pumps, etc., and labor (donated crews) to help southern nurseries get back up and running. This will also help in the effort to salvage plant inventories. At the same time, monetary contributions are also welcome and will be used to purchase needed supplies identified by SNA in the coming days and weeks.
Any companies or individuals interested in participating in the relief effort through SNA should review the form below, available in PDF or Word formats, and indicate areas in which they can be involved. The form can be faxed back to SNA at 770/953-4411. Call SNA at 770/953-3311 with questions.
