Southland spent a day landscaping a new home in North Charleston, S.C. as part of the “Gate House” project. The project is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Rehabilitation and has provided funding for the project with the help of the City of North Charleston.
Southland provided landscaping services to the property at 2622 Bennett Yard Road with the help of 13 volunteers and donations of supplies from Green Acres Turf Farm, Lowcountry Nursery and Carolina Pinestraw. The students of Garret Academy framed the house and other local businesses donated labor and materials to help complete the house.
This is the fourth house that Southland and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Rehabilitation have worked together on. Dedication of the new home is scheduled for Oct. 29.
