Spring Tips for Power Equipment

Get your outdoor power equipment tuned up and maintained in preparation for a high-performance season.

Attention contractors: it's time to tune up your outdoor power equipment so it will be ready, willing and able to perform this spring.  To be sure all lawnmowers and related equipment work efficiently, the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute has a few suggestions for smart professionals:

  • Refer to your operator’s manual for proper tune-up instructions for your specific equipment.
  • Change the spark plug if necessary.
  • Clean or replace the air filter.
  • Check safety devices to ensure that they are attached and working.
  • Change the engine oil.
  • Fill the gas tank carefully to avoid spilling.
  • If you are not comfortable doing your own tune-ups, contact your nearest outdoor power equipment servicing dealer.

    • Be good to your outdoor power equipment and it will be good to you.
