We’re hosting our annual State of the Industry webinar today from 12-1 p.m. EST. Editor Brian Horn will break down what we saw from this year’s report with landscapers Donna Delaney, Krisjan Berzins and Lee Edwards, all top execs from their respective companies.
What can you expect to hear more about during our free webinar? Here are a few takeaways from this year’s report.
- The industry’s holding steady: For the second straight year, the mean and median annual revenue is higher than $1 million.
- You’re still a confident bunch: 43% of respondents told us they’re very confident that their business would grow its revenue this year. 25% more of the respondents said they’re just confident, and only 8% said they weren’t confident at all in their revenue growth.
- You’re contending with familiar foes: High fuel prices and the labor shortage tied for the top concerns landscapers had for this upcoming year. Not far behind those two options were increasing compensation costs for employees.
- You’re thinking about the future: 51% of you said there’s an articulated exit strategy or plan to sell your business. Still, 50% of you told us that you don’t think you’ll see your business in the next 10 years. 25% of respondents said they would sell, and another 25% answered that they weren’t sure.
- Maintenance still reigns supreme: 39% of respondents’ revenue came from this line of service. 25% of your revenue came from design/build, and 13% came from lawn care services.
