Stellar Industries Breaks Sales Record in March

Stellar reaches $4.5 million sales goal, announces personnel reorganization and additions.

Fla

GARNER, Iowa – Stellar Industries announced that it achieved an all-time record month of $4.563 million in sales in March 2005. Stellar manufactures truck-mounted cranes, hooklifts, tire service trucks, air compressors and heavy-duty drawer sets. Sales are conducted worldwide through an internal sales staff and an extensive distributor network.

“This is a result of Stellar’s (product line) reaching new customers and increasing our marketshare in the various industries we serve,” says Mark Mullins, general sales manager. “Our sales and production staff have worked very hard to achieve these impressive gains in sales and their efforts are definitely appreciated.

David Zrostlik, president of Stellar Industries, says, “Going into our busiest tradeshow month, we knew we had established an aggressive sales goal that could only be met by everyone pulling together. Achieving our $4.5 million goal was a companywide accomplishment that could only happen with true ‘Team Stellar’ effort.”

SALES STAFF REORGANIZATION. In other sales news from Stellar Industries, the company reported that it has restructured a portion of its sales department. The position of inside sales manager was created and accepted by Keith Formanek, who previously managed the Midwest United States region. Formanek’s new job responsibilities include being the liaison between the sales, engineering and production departments, auditing customer orders, assisting regional sales managers while they’re on the road, managing the Stellar demo and work-ready pool, fielding incoming customer inquiries and directing end-users to the proper regional sales manager or distributor.

Replacing Formanek in the Midwest is Gary Hanson who formerly covered the Western region of the United States and Canada. Steve Jones will be covering the Western United States and Western Canadian territories in Hanson’s place.

Jones comes to Stellar from Bob’s Services, an authorized Stellar truck equipment distributor located in Anchorage, Alaska, where he spent 15 years as a sales manager. “After spending 20 years in Alaska where the saying is, ‘We don’t do it that way in Alaska,’ I’m looking forward to seeing how it’s done in the lower 48 states,” he says. “I think my biggest challenge will be balancing the desired time in the field with distributors against the required demands from the factory. Jones currently resides in Nampa, Idaho.

NEW JUNIOR BUYER. Stellar also announced the hiring of new team member Joyce Pletcher as a junior buyer for the company. Pletcher comes to Stellar after spending five years at Fertilizer Equipment Specialists where she was the business manager. She will have a wide range of buying responsibilities at Stellar to include office supplies and equipment, truck equipment, including hardware and lift gates, and handling all buying for custom orders.

“Her past experience as a business manager for FES and a junior buyer for Iowa Mold Tooling Co. is a real asset for our company,” says Margaret Tue, purchasing manager. “She’s a welcome addition to the Stellar Team.”

Pletcher resides in Garner, Iowa where Stellar is headquartered. “I look forward to bringing Stellar a wide range of knowledge that I have obtained from my past work experience,” she says. “And I look forward to the challenges of learning the functions and best applications of the purchased parts in the manufacturing process.”
