STIHL Presents National Forestry Hero Award

A Storm King Mountain victim and a Katrina firefighter will be honored at a ceremony in Westminster, Colo.

The Taste of Westminster Festival, Aug. 12, 2006 in Westminster, Colo., will recognize the 2006 recipient of the National Forestry Heroism Award presented by STIHL.

The award, inspired by the 1994 Storm King Mountain Fire in Colo., was developed to give special recognition to one extraordinary individual in honor of all who work for the benefit of our nation's forests. In addition to this annual award, STIHL will also recognize a 10th Anniversary Storm King Mountain Award recipient who lost his life on July 6, 1994, in the deadly fires that swept Storm King Mountain near Glenwood, Colo.

The ceremony will be at 2 p.m., immediately following the competition, in the Westminster Promenade parking lot.

STIHL created the National Forestry Heroism Award, giving special recognition each year to one extraordinary individual who works with, in, or devotes a significant portion of his or her time to the forestry industry.
