Strata Landscape Services in Los Angeles has acquired Boulder Landscaping, based in Salt Lake City, with support by Calder Capital as its buy-side M&A advisor.

Strata Landscape Services provides commercial landscaping solutions across the Western United States. Backed by growth equity and led by CEO Justin Crandall, Strata engaged Calder Capital as they sought to continue building a portfolio of complementary landscape companies in new geographies.

Founded in 2011 and led by Wray Dix, Boulder Landscaping offers the region landscaping design, installation, and maintenance services. Boulder delivers a wide range of residential and commercial services, including irrigation, turf installation, drainage, snow and ice removal, and sustainable landscaping solutions.

“This partnership aligns perfectly with our vision of scaling alongside like-minded local operators who prioritize quality and customer service,” Crandall says. “We were particularly impressed with Boulder’s commitment to safety, investment in staff and their in-house capabilities, as well as having an outstanding reputation in the Utah market. We’re thrilled to welcome Boulder Landscaping into the Strata family and look forward to continuing to grow together with Wray as our partner.”

“Strata brings the same client-first value system that we operate on, with the added benefit of scalable infrastructure and national support,” Dix says. “The future is bright, and I’m eager to see what we’ll accomplish and build together in our partnership.”

Hannah Nabhan of Calder Capital served as the lead buy-side director for the transaction. Nabhan was aided by buy-side directors Sam Scharich and Parker Schaap.

The deal was executed off-market, with Calder facilitating 32 introductions and 25 qualified leads to date, as part of its ongoing Buy-Side advisory engagement with Strata. Nabhan advised Strata Landscape Services from prospecting through closing, with Boulder as Strata’s second acquisition with Calder Capital since their engagement began in April 2024.

“It was a privilege to advise Strata in this deal and to meet Wray through the process. It’s been tremendous to witness how aligned the cultures and visions of both companies are,” Nabhan says. “I’m thrilled to see how both companies collaboratively grow and realize their new partnership."
