Good news for industry professionals who offer holiday lighting during the winter season: Consumers are expressing interest in outdoor holiday décor.
A recent nationwide survey, conducted for Wal-Mart Stores, indicates that 72 percent of those polled plan to invest in some type of seasonal decorations for their properties this year.
And, specifically, lights will be a consumer favorite, noted Eddie Tutt, merchandise manager of Wal-Mart’s seasonal division.
Research findings are based on 1,044 telephone interviews.
