Sweepstakes Winner 'Feels the Power'

The Husqvarna sweepstakes winner took home a new Isuzu NQR truck filled with Husqvarna equipment.

Jeff Lavalley’s maintenance fleet just got a makeover.

As the grand-prize winner of the Husqvarna “Feel the Power” Landscaper Sweepstakes, announced at the Husqvarna booth during the 2003 Green Industry Expo in St. Louis, Mo., Lavalley, received a new 2004 Isuzu NQR truck loaded with Husqvarna outdoor power equipment. Lavalley, owner of La Sprinklers, Centerburg, Ohio, was randomly selected from more than 16,000 sweepstakes entries as the grand-prize winner.

Valued at more than $40,000, the grand prize includes a 2004 Isuzu NQR truck with a three-passenger cab, gas-powered V8 engine, dual rear wheels and a landscaper body manufactured by Superior. The truck is loaded with Husqvarna products, including:

ZTH6127 Zero Turn Mower
WH4817ETS Hydro Walk-Behind Mower
155BT Backpack Blower
326LX Trimmer
326HS75 Hedge Trimmer
326EX Edger
346XP Chain Saw

Additionally, the sweepstake’s second prize went to Covington, La., landscaper Harold Catha who received a trip for two to the 2004 Charlotte NASCAR race, including suite tickets, airfare and lodging. Third prize winner Martin Penas of Pompano Beach, Fla., received a certificate for two to the Kings Experience at the Richard Petty Driving Experience. Undoubtedly, all three winners will be “feeling the power” as offered by Husqvarna.

“Husqvarna is the official outdoor power equipment for NASCAR,” commented Husqvarna President David Zerfoss during the prize presentation. “NASCAR is the fastest-growing sport in the country and this partnership and sweepstakes are great recognition for the industry.”

The sweepstakes process was coordinated by an independent marketing firm, which randomly selected the winners from entries submitted via a dedicated Web site, U.S. mail and telephone between April 1 and Oct. 1, 2003.
