Symbiot and John Deere Landscapes Extend Purchasing Partnership Agreement

John Deere Landscapes will remain an exclusive supplier for irrigation equipment and landscape supplies to the Symbiot Network Partners.

Symbiot Business Group today announced that the existing national purchasing contract with John Deere Landscapes (JDL), a P3 supplier for Symbiot’s service providers, has been extended until 2010.

The extension of the agreement is most important in that JDL will continue to be an exclusive supplier for irrigation equipment and landscape supplies to the Symbiot Network Partners.

“We are delighted that the purchasing partnership has been confirmed; it is a vote of confidence in our products and services,” said Tim Kearns, vice president, John Deere Landscapes. “Working through Symbiot, allows us to effectively reach the market leaders in the green industry.”

Drew St. John, vice president of sales and marketing for Symbiot agreed. “Our partnership over the last two years with John Deere Landscapes has been a win-win-win from day one,” he said. “John Deere Landscapes has seen double digit sales increases, and our Landscape Network Partners have received high-quality goods at true national price points. Symbiot has begun to leverage the cost savings to become more competitive in the regional ad national service contracts sales arena.”

Through the Purchase Power Program (P3), Symbiot identifies and negotiates agreements with providers of goods and services that reflect the national footprint of landscape contractors, interiorscape contractors, pest management contractors and snow removal specialists who are partners in the Symbiot networks. Symbiot's P3 agreements can include discounts for Symbiot partners, special terms of financing or shipping rates, or year-end rebates.

Over the term of the new agreement, JDL will provide continued product innovation, and will embed its brand in Symbiot national service contracts. JDL will continue to connect and increase sales to the industry’s elite.

JDL now has 250 locations supplying irrigation equipment, landscape lighting, water gardening and landscape supplies, direct sales nursery stock, tools and many other green industry products to professional contractors. Symbiot currently represents more than 800 member companies with a combined buying strength of more than $1 billion.
