Of more than 900 homeowners from across the United States who participated in the online poll, most said that mosquitoes are a concern and a perceived health risk. Overall, there is general awareness of pest control services for mosquitoes, but many homeowners are unaware that effective solutions are available, representing an opportunity for the industry to educate and grow the market. However, there is interest in a solution for mosquitoes, with 25 percent of respondents willing to purchase that service.

“Syngenta is very interested in uncovering homeowner perceptions of mosquitoes and mosquito control methods,” said Randy Moser, market manager for Syngenta Professional Pest Management. “The research indicates that homeowners are interested in controlling mosquitoes, and are willing to purchase that service from their pest management professional.”
