Wakulla County is introducing new landscaping rules to protect its natural beauty and improve how developments integrate with the environment. The ordinance, aimed at preserving native trees, is sparking discussions in the community as it balances growth with conservation efforts.
This includes preservation incentives, where developers are encouraged to preserve certain trees on-site, with incentives to maintain the natural landscape. It also includes stronger regulations, as the updated rules strengthen landscaping requirements and create larger buffers between different property types.
