Mole damage is present in many lawns through the Midwest. Moles are a frustrating animal to invade one’s property. The only sure fire way of getting rid of these guys is to trap them. Baits, repellents, and noise makers, are not very effective.

Spring-blooming bulbs, used in the northern United States, can be planted now. The most popular bulbs planted include, daffodil, hyacinth, lilies, and tulips. Bulbs planted in mass will have the strongest visual impact on the landscape.
Mums which are being planted now are present in many landscape areas. Removal of dead flowers after blooming is recommended. Later in the year after several hard freezes, the foliage should be cut back to the ground.
Pansies, in many parts of the country, continue to provide color. In areas that have mild winters, this color should continue into the spring.
