Ted Collins Tree and Landscape Celebrates 50 Years

March 21 marked the 50th year in business for the Victor, N.Y. tree and landscape company.

March 21 marked the first day of spring and this year, the spring season carries special meaning for Ted Collins Tree and Landscape as the Victor, N.Y. tree and landscape company celebrates its 50th year in business.

“To achieve 50 years in business is quite an accomplishment for any company, but especially our industry,” said Greg Frank, vice president of Ted Collins Tree and Landscape. “This company’s success was built on quality, expertise and innovation and we look forward to continuing with those values for the next 50 years.”

Edward F. “Ted” Collins founded Ted Collins Tree and Landscape in 1957. From Charlotte to a commercial alleyway alongside the Erie Canal in Pittsford, now known as Schoen Place, the company is now located on 30 acres of farmland on Victor-Mendon Road.  In 1990, Collins retired and sold the business to its current owners Doug Ward, a veteran of the contracting and service industries, and Greg Frank, a certified landscape designer and ornamental horticulturalist who has been with the company for more than 30 years.

Ted Collins Tree and Landscape has grown from its 3 original employees to a staff of more than 80.  The company boasts a team of licensed landscape architects, experienced design consultants, arborists, lawn and plant care specialists and horticultural experts and provides comprehensive landscape services to the Rochester, Finger Lakes and Buffalo regions.  The company’s Garden Store, staffed with a team of professional horticulturalists, is also located at 8000 Victor-Mendon Road.
