Hendersonville, Tenn., builder Murdock Construction Co. and Nolensville-based Alliance Landscaping have each asked for bankruptcy protection in filings this week in Nashville.
Murdock Construction Co. Inc. showed assets of $1,950 and debts of $100,111 in its filing for Chapter 7 liquidation in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for Middle Tennessee. Major creditors include Gallatin-based Garrott Brothers, which it owes $25,221; and Clarksville-based Orgain Building Supply, which it owes $24,418.
Donald Murdock, the company's president, also filed for bankruptcy protection.
In a separate action, Alliance landscaping listed assets of $1,500 and liabilities of $224,535 in its filing for liquidation. Its major creditors include Nolensville-based Classic Treescapes, owed $45,083; Franklin-based DJ Rentals, owed $26,820; and Whites Creek-based Metro Environmental, owed $25,000, court filings show.
