The video illustrates the process of installing Profile’s Terra-Tubes and documents the accuracy of the testing. Modeled in “real world” runoff conditions, results showed that for a 10-year, six-hour design event, Terra-Tubes lost only 211 pounds of sediment per acre inch of water runoff versus its closest competitor, which lost 3,227 pounds in the same event. Tests also showed Terra-Tubes were 98 percent effective in reducing sediment runoff.
Terra-Tubes are engineered composites of wood fibers, man-made fibers and performance-enhancing polymers that are encased in heavy-duty knitted tubes. Their function is to control sediment loss and treat storm water through three primary functions, including flow, filtration and flocculation
