FORT WORTH, Texas – Fort Worth police have arrested five lawn care operators they say turned a public park into a dumping ground.
Investigators say the men dumped over 960 pounds of grass clippings into Arcadia Trail Park on the city’s far north side. Neighbors initially called police to report seeing the men dumping the clippings.
Fort Worth police representative Lt. Jesse Hernandez said they caught the men dumping and dispersing the clippings in the park.
The volume of the clippings makes the crime a felony, with punishment up to two years in jail.
The landscaping company the men worked for had no comment.
