Textron Donates $750,000 to Tsunami Relief

The parent company of Jacobsen and other brands announced its contribution earlier this month.

Providence, RI – Textron, parent company of Jacobsen, Ransomes, Ryan and other green-industry equipment brands, announced earlier this month that it will donate up to $750,000 to assist with relief efforts in the Southeast Asian and African countries affected by the recent devastation and aftermath caused by the Dec. 26th earthquake and related tsunamis. The donation includes an initial company contribution of $250,000 to the American Red Cross International Response Fund's tsunami relief efforts, in addition to a $250,000 grant for a dollar-for-dollar match of employee contributions to the organization.

    Individuals who would like to make a charitable donation outside of their company or association may click here for a list of relief organizations accepting donations to aid victims of the Dec. 26 tsunami that hit Southeast Asia.

This effort accompanies a variety of local efforts initiated by Textron businesses and facilities worldwide in support of tsunami relief in affected regions.
