Thieman Tailgates Expands

Thieman Tailgates, manufacturer of hydraulic liftgates, is in the midst of an expansion that will ad 30,000 square feet to the Celina, Ohio-based business. The expansion is to be completed by the end of summer.

“The existing weld shop will be moved to the new area, which will allow us to expand our weld shop and at the same time increase our assembly area,” said Vice President Todd Thieman. The expansion will increase the plant size by 25 percent of a total of 120,000 square feet. This is Thieman’s second expansion since 1998 when a 20,000 square foot assembly area was added.

Thieman Tailgates markets a full line of hydraulic liftgates, with lift capacities from 1,000 to 6,600 pounds for light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks and trailers. Stowaways, railgates, sideloaders, toplifters and conventional models are all part of the Thieman line.
