Toro Hosts Free WaterSmart Webcast Next Week

Landscape-related topics include water manager certification, WaterSense, SWAT and others.

Toro Irrigation will host a free webcast on water savings-related topics for landscape and irrigation professionals next Tuesday. The online event is part of the manufacturer's third annual “Success Without Excess” WaterSmart Symposium.

“Now, more than ever, irrigation professionals need to be aware of new laws, regulations and technologies that impact our industry," says Christine Canepa, director of marketing for Toro Irrigation. "This symposium is an opportunity for landscape contractors, water purveyors, municipalities and builders to hear about best practices from around the globe, strengthening their businesses and preparing them for the changing irrigation environment.”

The event on Tuesday consists of two sessions, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tthe morning session includes presentations from Larry Rohlfes, assistant executive director for CLCA, on CLCA Water Manager Certification; Stephanie Tanner, WaterSense® products lead for the EPA; and Mary Ann Dickinson, executive director for the Alliance for Water Efficiency, on the mission of this organization.

The afternoon session includes Brian Vinchesi, chairman of the Irrigation Association SWAT initiative, discussing SWAT’s mission and accomplishments; Steve Bilson, president of ReWater Systems, Inc., sharing information on residential gray water systems; and Julian Gray, CEO of Smart Approved WaterMark, talking about the Smart Approved WaterMark in Australia.

The symposium addresses water management and irrigation best practices for the golf and agriculture markets on Wednesday, July 30, also in a webcast format.
