The Toro Co. will pay a $30,000 fine and install a new emissions-control system at a facility in Bloomington as part of an agreement reached with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA).
Bloomington-based Toro said the move is in response to an emissions problem it identified at an engineering test facility. The company said it reported the matter to the MPCA.
Toro, which makes landscaping equipment and irrigation systems, has hired Maple Plain-based engineering firm Wenck Associates to design the new system, which will cost $1 million.
