Tractor Supply Co. plans to open a store in the Nazareth, Pa., area next spring, its first in Northampton County.
North Carolina developer Keith Corp. purchased nearly four acres to be used by the retailer, according to real estate firm Sperry Van Ness, which handled the transaction. The property sold for $988,200.
Keith Corp. plans to build a retail center and lease to Tractor Supply when complete, said Beth Livingston, a project manager with the Charlotte-based builder.
Livingston said construction is expected to be done by spring. The 3.69-acre site will include a 20,000-square-foot building and an outdoor supply area of similar size, she said.
Tractor Supply will employ about 25 at the Lower Nazareth Township property, Livingston said. Keith Corp. has handled past projects for the company.
Tractor Supply owns retail farm and ranch stores across 44 states. It sells hardware, tools, pet and animal products, lawn and garden power equipment, and truck and towing accessories.
The nearest store is in Warren County, Pa. In Pennsylvania, it operates stores in Lower Macungie Township and Quakertown.
With 814 stores total, Tractor Supply estimates annual revenue of $2.83 billion. Its stock trades on the Nasdaq exchange under the symbol "TSCO."
